Each new edition of JISTEM has improved in quality and national and international visibility thanks to the relentless work of adopting the most demanding standards possible for an academic magazine. Following that, we are announcing that we are implementing DOI numbers (Digital Object Identifier) for every edition. DOI is a system created by The International DOI Foundation to permanently identify content objects in the digital world. The second fact that we consider historic is that JISTEM has become part of the USP Journal Portal, an indexer that uses the Scielo platform and methodology to mark articles. Beginning this year, JISTEM has also become part of PROQUEST, of which has already included all of the publicized editions to date. We count on the collaboration of all the authors, readers and participants to continue with us in this process of growth and in transforming JISTEM into one of the most important vehicles in disseminating the academic/ scientific work of the area.

We would like to accentuate two characteristics that are very important to JISTEM. One is the word MANAGEMENT in the name, being what differentiates JISTEM from other journals that are essentially, by nature, technical. The second is to be multi-disciplinary. Why is JISTEM multi-disciplinary? Because Information Systems and Information and Communication Technologies are imbedded in current society and thus, are present in all areas of society that use them, manage them and receive their impacts. The study of the management and the effects of its use allow you to understand how Information Systems and Information and Communication Technologies work in private and public institutions and in society in general. The studies presented in JISTEM are the result of the study of these phenomena in all their aspects. That’s how we are able to gather study participants from areas such as: Engineering, Communication, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, Sociology, Physics, Medicine, Law, Library Studies, Information Science, etc.

This first number of JISTEM volume 7 contains very interesting articles for everyone:
