THE 28th DIRECTING COUNCIL,

Having examined the material for the preparation of the Seventh General Program of Work of the

World Health Organization (1984–1989 inclusive) (Document CD28/6, Corr. 1);

Bearing in mind that the Director-General of WHO has submitted this material to the Regional

Committees to ensure that their views are properly taken into account by the Program Committee of

the Executive Board in the preparation of the draft for the Seventh General Program of Work; and

Considering that the Plan of Action for the implementation of the regional strategies of health for

all by the year 2000 is consistent with the proposed structure of the Seventh General Program of

Work of WHO,

RESOLVES

1. To take note of the material for the preparation of the Seventh General Program of Work of

2. To consider the Plan of Action for the implementation of the regional strategies as the

contribution of the Region of the Americas to the preparation of the Seventh General Program of

Work of WHO (1984–1989 inclusive).

3. To request the Director to forward the Regional Plan of Action and the summary record of the

discussions on the Seventh General Program of Work by the Regional Committee for the Americas

to the Director-General, for their submission to and consideration by the Program Committee of the

Executive Board of WHO.
