ABSTRACT

)n the last ‐ years, has been observed a significant decrease in human fertility which affects % of couples. Although infertility is often attributed to female cause, a male factor is solely

onsible in

resp about % of infertile couples and contributing in another ‐ % of cases.

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the causes of infertility to men at reproductive

age.

Material – method: The sample study included infertility married men that seeked medical

Results_: From the men f the studied population, , % were men ‐ years old, , %

‐ years old, , % and above years old and the , % ‐ years old. The results

revealed that oligospermia was the first cause of infertility in approximately , % of men, and

the second cause was astenozoospermia in , % of men. «Unexplained infertility» was

responsible for another , % of cases, varicocele was identified in approximately , % of cases and azoosper ia wa identif d the , % of infertile m m s ie in en.

Conclusions: The main causes of men infertility were oligospermia, astenozoospermia

unexplained infertility, varicocele and azoospermia. )t is important, an educational – informing strategy towards men population to be adopted, which will improve knowledge about the causes of an impair_{ed male fecundity and will significantly contribute to the solu}tion of the problem.
