STUDENTS AT THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF GRANDE DOURADOS

The UNDERGRADUATE SUB-RECTORY (PROGRAD) and the INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS OFFICE (ESAI) of the Federal University of Grande Dourados (UFGD) announce the Call for Application for academic mobility of students from foreign universities, under a Cooperation Agreement with UFGD, during the second academic semester of 2012.

1. SEATS

1.1 UFGD offers 45 seats to students from its partner foreign universities in its faculties, distributed among their undergraduate courses, as follows:

1.2 The faculties are responsible for the academic curriculum’s analysis and selection of candidates.

1.3 The students’ stay at the Federal University of Grande Dourados shall last for 01 academic semester, starting in July, 2012.

2. DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED

a) Application form duly filled out and signed (see Annexe 01). The candidate must choose the disciplines according to the program offered by the course he/she intends to enroll for. The candidate must complete 30 ECTS during the academic semester. UFGD course’s programs are available in Portuguese on

www.ufgd.edu.br. In case of doubt, please send an e-mail to esai@ufgd.edu.br; b) Transcript of academic records including all the disciplines studied and the

Cumulative Grade Point Average;

c) Letter of recommendation written in Portuguese, or translated into it, by a professor from the candidate’s home university, whom will be responsible for the academic mobility;

d) Termo de Responsabilidade (Declaration on Honour) written in Portuguese (see Annexe 02) and signed by the candidate’s parents, or the person legally responsible for him/her, attesting that all the costs of the trip, accommodation and others will be at their expenses, and that he/she will not need to work during the mobility period;

e) Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese, except for candidates from Lusophone countries, or a letter from the home university stating that the student’s level of knowledge of Portuguese language is adequate for university studies.

3. APPLICATION PROCEDURES

3.1 The Application form, and all the documents requested shall be handed in the department responsible for the international relations at the home university.

3.2 The applications must be sent by the department of international relations to: Universidade Federal da Grande Dourados - UFGD

The complete documents and application form must also be sent to ESAI/UFGD by e-mail: esai@ufgd.edu.br.

4. SELECTION

4.1 Analysis of the applicants’ documents (application form, transcript of academic records, letter of recommendation, certificate of Portuguese proficiency, and declaration on honour);

4.2 The selection will be made by each Faculty, according to their criteria and assessment carried out by a specific council formed by professors.

5. DEADLINES

5.1 April 27th, 2012 – Deadline for receipt of applications at ESAI/UFGD. In order to

avoid any trouble, we suggest the applications be sent to ESAI/UFGD three weeks in advance;

5.2 May 28th, 2012 – Results are published;

5.3 July 30th, 2012 – Beginning of the 2nd academic semester at UFGD.

6. DOCUMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT IN UFGD 6.1 Student Visa;

6.2 Copy of the student’s passport or identity card;

6.3 Copy of a declaration or certificate of enrollment in the home university; 6.4 International health insurance;

6.5 01 photograph (5x7 cm).

7. OTHER PROVISIONS

7.1 The Cooperation Agreement guarantees the seat for the foreign student selected for the academic mobility, and exempts him/her from paying tuition fees.

7.2 The person legally responsible for the student will incur all the expenses for the student’s traveling, accommodation, food, and health problems since there are no scholarships to be granted.

7.2.1 UFGD is responsible for providing the student with the group personal accidents insurance.

7.3 Casus omissus shall be resolved by PROGRAD and ESAI, and the faculties will be heard.
