Electrical SafetyPrefácio
ScopeThis Standard sets out the minimum requirement and general principles for safe operation of and work activity on, with, or near electrical installations and equipment to establish electrical safety program. This Standard apply to:
Operation of electrical system and installation;
Execution of any electrical work activities on electrical installation, including construction, maintenance and test;
Execution of any non-electrical work activities, such as construction near overhead electrical lines or electrical underground installation, cleaning and others executed by ordinary personnel near electrical installation and equipment.
This Standard is applicable to operation of electrical installation, and work activities on, with or near electrical installations operation at voltage levels from and including extra-low voltage up to and including high voltage. High voltage includes levels referred to as medium and extra-high voltage.

This Standard is applicable for work activities on, with or near electrical installation designed for the generation, transmission, conversion, distribution and use of electrical power of:
— Fixed and permanent installations, such as on industries and transmission line;
— Temporary installation such as on construction sites, fairs and exhibitions;
— Mobile or capable of being moved installation such as mobile substation;
— Electrically driven mobile equipment such as excavating machine.
This Standard does not apply to the electrical installation listed below, however, if there are no other
— on any aircraft; (these are subject to International Aviation laws);
— on any sea going ship; (these are subject to International Marine laws);
— electronic telecommunication and information system;
— at coal or other mines;
—
— on electric traction systems.
This Standard does not apply to ordinary persons when using electrical installation and equipment, provided that the installation and equipment comply with relevant technical standards and are designed,
installed and maintained to assure personnel and livestock safety.
