A ideia de que a noção de sistema sócio ecológico é um suporte adequado para o desenvolvimento de uma abordagem sistémica de construção da paisagem é a principal conclusão desta comunicação. O modelo é, em sim mesmo, um poderoso conceito, estimulador da criatividade projetual. Cumulativamente abre possibilidades para que se possam abordar, de uma forma igualmente criativa, mas coerente e articulada, uma enorme diversidade de outros conceitos que lhe estão associados.

Permite entender a paisagem de acordo com as suas características intrínsecas, enquanto sistema aberto complexo resultado da interação entre sistemas naturais e sociais, e disponibiliza ferramentas operativas a partir das quais se podem conceber estratégias de abordagem

projetual que atuam em cooperação com a paisagem e não contra ela. Para a construção dest a postura é importante uma maior aproximação entre a ciência, em especial as áreas da ecologia orientadas para o estudo dos sistemas complexos e para a gestão de ecossistemas, e o projet o da paisagem. Esta articulação será um precioso auxílio para que a ideia de paisagem como sistema sócio ecológico seja explorada como ponto de partida para a elaboração de abordagens metodológicas/ projetuais que concretizem a integração criativa do pensamento ecossistémico na leitura e construção da paisagem.
