ANNOUNCEMENT

After 13 years of hard-work and tireless dedication to the BJChE, Professor Milton Mori is

stepping down as Chief Editor of the BJChE.

On behalf of the BJChE and the Brazilian Society for Chemical Engineering (ABEQ), I would

like to thank Milton for his many years of effort and diligent dedication. Under his command, the

BJChE became firmly established as an international journal, began publishing articles in

English, improved its editorial quality, and was indexed in several international databases,

acquiring international visibility. As an acknowledgement for his commitment and contributions,

I have nominated Milton to the position of Editor Emeritus.

Two other colleagues who worked together with Milton to consolidate the Journal, Professor

Roberto de Campos Giordano and Professor Geraldo Lippel Sant'Anna Jr., are also leaving their

appointments as editors. I want to thank Roberto and Geraldo for their many important

contributions to the Journal and, in particular, to the success of its more recent growth phase.

I am assuming the position of Editor-in-Chief with enthusiasm, with a strong feeling of

responsibility, and with the commitment to continue Milton´s work by sustaining and advancing

the quality of the Journal with the help of the board of editors and associate editors. In the years

ahead, the BJChE's goals are to: improve the Web-enabled electronic submission and tracking

system; respond in a timely fashion to the needs of authors and readers; continue to attract

high-quality submissions; and continue to improve the international visibility of the journal.
