5.2. Limitações do estudo e recomendações para futuras investigações

A principal limitação que este estudo enfrentou foi o facto de não ser possível entrevistar todos os intervenientes de forma presencial, como pretendido inicialmente.

Apesar de os entrevistados terem colaborado de forma entusiasta e terem, inclusive, mencionado o estudo junto a colegas que também quiseram contribuir com os seus testemunhos, para alguns o recurso ao Skype foi um desafio.

De salientar que duas trabalhadoras não quiseram revelar o rosto, sendo a entrevista realizada apenas com recurso a voz, situação que teria sido evitada se a entrevista fosse conduzida de forma presencial.

A disponibilidade dos entrevistados foi outra das dificuldades encontradas, pois fez com que o processo se tornasse mais longo que o planeado.

Outra limitação ao estudo prende-se com o facto de a literatura a incidir sobre a igualdade de tratamento e sobre a homossexualidade ao longo dos tempos ser reduzida, o que fez com que a abordagem à primeira fosse diminuta e, no que toca à segunda, as informações provirem, quase exclusivamente, de páginas de internet.

Há que salientar também os resultados da investigação exploratória, onde as características sociodemográficas constituem limites que se devem relevar.

Já no que concerne às recomendações para futuras investigações, seria interessante a realização de um estudo que incidisse sobre os estereótipos em âmbito laboral, em setores de atividade que, como alude Friskopp e Silverstein (1996) poderão ser potencialmente problemáticos para trabalhadores homossexuais, como é o caso de profissões ligadas ao ensino, à religião ou ao serviço militar.

Sugere-se ainda que, futuramente, as fases iniciais de acesso ao mercado de trabalho sejam um tema mais aprofundado, especialmente no contexto português, uma vez que grande parte dos estudos provêm de outros países.

Por último, sugere-se uma análise e investigação a empresas de menores dimensões, que não multinacionais, e a relação destas com práticas de inclusão. Isto porque a informação analisada incide em empresas de grandes dimensões e seria interessante investigar o ponto de vista e a realidade de setores mais pequenos.
