This paper describes a developm ent proj ect of digit al learning obj ect s in nursing, and t he evaluat ion of t heir use by t eachers and undergraduat e nursing st udent s. The st rat egies for t heir developm ent were com posed of t he following st ages: concept ual m odeling, developm ent of inst ruct ional m at erials, im plem ent at ion in a virt ual learning environm ent , and evaluat ion. This is an ongoing st udy and prelim inary result s dem onst rat e t hat t eachers and st udent s ev aluat ed t he design and t he cont ent of t he nur sing digit al lear ning obj ect s sat isfact or ily , but dem onst rat e difficult ies in using t hem . The result s point t o t he im pact of innovat ion t hrough t he consolidat ion of t he use of educat ional t echnologies int egrat ed t o t he t eaching of nursing, as well as a support program for t eachers.

u r sin g h as accom pan ied t h e in t r odu ct ion pr ocess of com pu t er t ech n ologies in edu cat ion an d has been innovat ing t o t he ext ent t hat it t ries t o adapt t hese t echnologies t o it s needs, whet her in producing websit es( 1) or educat ional soft ware( 2). The experiences wit h virt ual learning environm ent s have dem onst rat ed t h a t i n t e r a ct i v i t y i s f u n d a m e n t a l i n t h e l e a r n i n g pr ocess( 3). The hy per t ex t s and im ages need t o m eet v i su a l r eq u i r em en t s, m a k i n g t h em a t t r a ct i v e a n d com pr eh en sible t o st u den t s, besides per m it t in g t h e possibilit y of “ nav igat ing” t he w ay t hey w ant t o and r espect ing t heir lear ning speed( 4).Th e ch a r a ct er i st i cs d escr i b ed a b o v e h a v e b e e n o b se r v e d i n t h e p r o d u ct i o n o f e d u ca t i o n a l elem ent s, w hich ar e char act er ized as being didact ic m at er ials t hat use m ult im edia and int er act iv it y w it h com pu t er an d com m u n icat ion t ech n ology r esou r ces, based on a pedagogical per spect iv e( 5).
The m ain advant age in developing educat ional m at er ials is t he fact t hat t hey ar e r eusable, t hat is, t hey can be available in reposit ory sit es on t he int ernet t hat per m it access t o and use of t hese m at er ials by a n y i n d i v i d u a l i n t e r e st e d i n t h e i r co n t e n t . Ot h e r qualit ies include int er operabilit y, a charact er ist ic t hat a l l o w s f o r t h e i r u s e i n d i f f e r e n t p l a t f o r m s , a n d d u r a b i l i t y, b e ca u se t h e y a r e i n d e p e n d e n t o f t h e t echnological base t hat houses t hem( 5).
I n t h e case of n u r sin g, t h e dev elopm en t of digit al educat ional obj ect s is a r esour ce t hat suppor t s f a ce t o f a ce l e a r n i n g a n d r e sp e ct s t h e st u d e n t ’ s a u t o n o m y , a n t i c i p a t i n g , b y m e a n s o f v i r t u a l sim u lat ion , t h e r ealit y t h ey w ill f in d in t h eir f u t u r e p r a c t i c e( 6 ). T h i s a r t i c l e a i m s t o d e s c r i b e t h e elab or at ion st ep s of t h e ed u cat ion al m at er ials an d t he pr oposal t o assess t heir use w it h st udent s at t he Ri o Gr a n d e d o Su l Fe d e r a l Un i v e r si t y Co l l e g e o f Nu r sin g ( EENFUFRGS) .

MATERI ALS AND THEI R EVALUATI ON
A t ot al of 20 digit al educat ional m at erials were developed: eight hypert ext s, eight educat ional gam es and four sim ulat ions, focusing on sem iologic t hem es in nursing, following t he st eps of concept ual m odeling, i m p l e m e n t a t i o n a n d u s a g e e v a l u a t i o n . Th e pedagogical r efer ence fr am ew or k s of pr oblem - based
lear ning and const r uct iv ist int er act ionism w er e used in t he m at er ials concept ion.
The t echnologies applied for t he developm ent o f t h e ed u cat i o n al o b j ect s i n v o l v ed i m ag e ed i t i n g ( Phot oshop® ) and aut hor ship ( FlashMX® ) soft w ar e, b ecau se t h ey of f er a w id e r an g e of an im at ion an d i n t e r a ct i o n r e so u r ce s, r e su l t i n g i n sm a l l f i l e s i n co m p a r i so n w i t h o t h er so f t w a r e. Th e h y p er t ex t s, available in t he virt ual learning environm ent Teleduc® , ex plor e t hem es t hat r ange fr om pr ev ious k now ledge t h a t c o l l a b o r a t e s i n t h e i r u n d e r s t a n d i n g t o c o m p l e m e n t a r y r e a d i n g a n d r e v i e w e x e r c i s e s , i l l u s t r a t e d b y d i g i t a l i m a g e s o f e q u i p m e n t a n d p r oced u r es st ag es.
