Os objectivos gerais são concretizados da seguinte forma:
OA1.1 – Compreender o processo de segmentação disciplinar no estudo da Natureza e do Humano, convocando os diferentes saberes relevantes para o estabelecimento do recorte epistemológico da arqueologia;
OA1.2 - Conhecer a história da emergência da arqueologia enquanto disciplina científica, e a amplitude da sua diversidade. OA1.3 – Conhecer a história da evolução da arqueologia em Portugal;
OA2.1 – Compreender o conceito de fonte em arqueologia, assim como a sua materialização; OA2.2 – Definir o conceito de interdisciplinaridade e enumerar os principais campos de aplicação; OA2.3 – Conhecer os principais critérios de classificação dos sítios arqueológicos;
OA2.4 – Distinguir os conceitos de periodização e enumerar os principais métodos de datação; OA2.5 – Definir os conceitos de prospecção e de escavação arqueológicas;

The general objectives are achieved as follows:
OA1.1 - Understand the segmentation process of the discipline in the study of Nature and Human, calling on different knowledge relevant to the establishment of the epistemological framework of archeology;
OA1.2 - Knowing the history of the emergence of archeology as a scientific discipline, and the extent of its diversity. OA1.3 - Knowing the history of the evolution of archeology in Portugal;
OA2.1 - Understand the concept of source in archeology, as well as its materialization; OA2.2 - Define the concept of interdisciplinarity and enumerate the main fields of application; OA2.3 - Know the main criteria for the classification of archaeological sites;
OA2.4 - Distinguish the concepts of periodization and enumerate the main dating methods; OA2.5 - Define the concepts of field survey and archaeological excavation;

6.2.1.7. Metodologias de ensino (avaliação incluída):
O sistema de ensino baseia-se em aulas teórico-práticas, com sistemático recurso a meios audiovisuais, completadas
ocasionalmente com visitas de estudo a sítios arqueológicos e museus. É fomentada a participação activa dos alunos nas aulas. A avaliação segue as normais gerais estabelecidas na FLUL, com as variantes determinadas pela natureza da disciplina, nos seguintes termos: (a) Fichas de leitura a elaborar individualmente (máximo duas) – 20 % da nota final; (b) Teste escrito ou, em alternativa, trabalho prático individual – 30 % da nota final; (c) Prova de frequência final – 50 % da nota final. A presença e
participação nas aulas, verificada por escrito e com 25 % de tolerância por faltas, pode conferir aos alunos um bónus adicional até um máximo de 2 valores, a incluir na classificação final da disciplina, desde que os restantes elementos de classificação
6.2.1.7. Teaching methodologies (including evaluation):
The education system is based on theoretical and practical lessons, with systematic use of audiovisual media, supplemented with occasional visits to archaeological sites and museums. It is encouraged the active participation of students in class.
The evaluation follows the general regulations established in FLUL, with variants determined by the nature of the discipline, as follows: (a) Bilbiographic reading notes to prepare individually (maximum two) - 20% of the final classification, (b) Written test or, alternatively, individual practical work - 30% of the final classification, (c) Final frequency test - 50% of the final classification. The presence and participation in class, written and verified with 25% tolerance for faults, may give students an additional bonus up to a maximum of 2 values to be included in the final classification, provided that other elements of classitication are compatible with such a grade improvement.
6.2.1.8. Demonstração da coerência das metodologias de ensino com os objectivos de aprendizagem da unidade curricular.
A metodologia de ensino baseada principalmente em aulas teórico-práticas presenciais é adequada à natureza propedêutica e generalista da disciplina. Permite-se em todo caso aos alunos mais interessados poderem distinguir-se através da participação activa na aulas e da realização de trabalhos concebidos e executados individualmente.
6.2.1.8. Demonstration of the coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes.
The teaching methodology based primarily on practical classes’ attendance is appropriate to the propedeutic and generalist nature of the discipline. It allows in any case more interested students to distinguish themselves through active participation in classes and performing work designed and executed individually.
