Objectiva-se contribuir para a aquisição de conhecimentos e práticas que permitam, de forma autónoma, rigorosa e supervisionada, a análise e compreensão de um conjunto de conhecimentos sobre conceitos e métodos básicos das Ciências Sociais.
Pretende-se que no final do semestre os estudantes sejam capazes de desenvolver uma análise crítica de documentos e processos; Conhecer e saber aplicar, em contexto, uma linguagem científica e técnica; explicitar e aplicar os conceitos centrais da Unidade Curricular, nomeadamente no que se refere ao domínio das ciências sociais e ao estudo do social; à relação entre individuo e sociedade e aos temas nucleares das ciências sociais (ligações familiares; a diferenciação social; e, o sistema da acção humana).
6.2.1.4. Learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
To contribute to the acquisition of knowledge and practices that allow, in an autonomous and supervised manner, the analysis and understanding of knowledge on concepts and basic methods of social sciences. It is intended that at the end of the semester the students should be capable to develop a critical analysis of documents and processes; To know and to know how to apply a scientific and technical language, in a given context; and to apply the CU’s central concepts, namely those which refer to the domain of social sciences; to the relationship between individual and society and to the nuclear themes of the social sciences (family connections; social differentiation; and, the human action system).

6.2.1.6. Demonstração da coerência dos conteúdos programáticos com os objectivos da unidade curricular.
Os conteúdos programáticos estão em coerência com os objetivos da unidade curricular, no sentido em que os pontos das três partes do programa da unidade curricular permitem fundamentar e abrir à reflexão dos conteúdos fundamentais no domínio das ciências sociais e, deste modo, alcançar os objetivos previstos, sobretudo, os específicos previstos nas quatro últimas linhas do parágrafo do quadro relativo
aos objetivos.
6.2.1.6. Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's objectives.
The contents are coherent with the objectives of the CU, in the sense that the points of the three parts of the program of the CU allow to substantiate and to open to the reflection of the fundamental contents in the domain of the social sciences and, in this way, to reach the foreseen objectives, and above all, the specific ones foreseen in the last four lines of the paragraph, related to the framing of the objectives.

Metodologias:
Será utilizada metodologia expositiva combinada com a metodologia interrogativa e demonstrativa na apresentação dos conteúdos programáticos.
Recorrer-se-á, sempre que possível, a metodologia ativa na apresentação de trabalhos, objetivando a discussão e a apresentação por parte dos estudantes das questões que emergem a partir dos conteúdos em análise.
Avaliação:
Avaliar-se-ão os conhecimentos adquiridos através da elaboração e apresentação de um dois trabalhos escritos, realizados em grupo, um dos quais com apresentação e discussão oral; e um teste individual Os parâmetros de avaliação reportar-se-ão:
Trabalhos e Teste: Compreensão das questões; Objectividade na resposta e respeito pelos conteúdos; Rigor na linguagem e na utilização dos conceitos; Capacidade de justificação e fundamentação;

Methodologies: expository methodology combined with the interrogative and demonstrative methodology in the presentation of the contents. Active methodology will be used, whenever possible, in the
presentation of works, aiming for the discussion and the presentation by the students of the issues that emerge from the contents in analysis. Evaluation: The acquired knowledge will be evaluated through the elaboration and presentation of a two written works, accomplished in a group, one with presentation and oral discussion; and an individual test The evaluation parameters are: Assignments and Test:
Understanding of the subjects; Objectivity in the answer and respect for the contents; Rigor in the
language and in the use of the concepts; Justification and substantiation capacity; Structure of the answer; Personal positioning and critical analysis; Creativity; Synthesis capacity; Legibility; Wealth of ideas; Pertinence of ideas.
6.2.1.8. Demonstração da coerência das metodologias de ensino com os objectivos de aprendizagem da unidade curricular.
Com a combinação dos métodos utilizados pretende-se dar mais importância ao processo de
reflexãoautónomae ao desenvolvimento de um pensamento critico problematizador. Os estudantes são estimuladospara a leitura e para a escrita científica. A apresentação oral, pretende exercitar a capacidade de justificar/fundamentar as suas posições ou juízos e de argumentar essas mesmas posições quando colocadas em debate.
6.2.1.8. Demonstration of the coherence between the teaching methodologies and the learning outcomes.
With the combination of the methods used it is intended to attribute more importance to the process of autonomous reflection and the development of critical thinking. The students are stimulated for scientific reading and writing. The oral presentation intends to exercise the students’ capacity to justify / base their positions or judgments and of arguing those same positions when put in a debate context.
