1. Analisar de forma aprofundada o fenómeno do envelhecimento numa perspetiva sociológica e antropológica. 2. Analisar de forma crítica as diversas teorizações sociológicas sobre o envelhecimento e suas transformações. 3. Identificar as condicionantes e implicações sociológicas e demográficas do envelhecimento das populações. 4. Analisar as relações entre as estruturas sociais e o envelhecimento em Portugal e seu contexto.
5. Descrever a qualidade e vida das populações idosas e as suas características.

1. To in depth analyse the aging phenomenon in a sociological and anthropological perspective. 2. To critically analyze the various sociological theories about aging and its transformations. 3. To describe older people’s quality of life and its characteristics.

6.2.1.6. Demonstração da coerência dos conteúdos programáticos com os objetivos de aprendizagem da unidade curricular.
Os conteúdos programáticos I, II, IV, V e VI procuram contribuir para atingir os objectivos 1, 2, 3, 4 e 5. Por seu turno, o conteúdo programático III procura contribuir para os objectivos 1 e 2 e os conteúdos programáticos VII e VIII para os objectivos 4 e 5.
6.2.1.6. Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit's learning objectives.
The syllabus I, II, IV, V and VI seek to contribute to achieve the goals 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. The syllabus III seeks to contribute to the goals 1 and 2 and, the syllabus VII and VIII to the goals 4 and 5.
6.2.1.7. Metodologias de ensino (avaliação incluída):
Aulas teóricas e de exposição temática.
Análise de textos e de outros documentos sobre os conteúdos do programa. Reflexão oral e escrita.
Discussão de situações problema. Realização de trabalhos práticos.
A avaliação da unidade curricular terá um carácter continuado e será sustentada pela ação interventora dos alunos na dinâmica das sessões. Como instrumentos de avaliação e classificação serão tidos em conta os trabalhos práticos sobre os temas do programa (com uma ponderação de 50%) e uma prova escrita individual (com uma ponderação de 50%).

Theoretical and expository classes.
Analysis of texts and other documents about the syllabus. Oral and written reflection.
Discussion of problem situations. Practical works.
The curricular unit evaluation is continuous and will be supported by the students’ intervening action in the sessions dynamics. The evaluation and classification instruments will comprise the practical works about the program themes (with a weighting of 50%) and an individual written test (with a weight of 50%).
Students missing the continuous evaluation will be submitted to final evaluation through written exam.

Análise de textos e de outros documentos sobre os conteúdos do programa servirão para atingir os objetivos 1, 2, 3, 4, e 5.
A reflexão oral e escrita servirá sobretudo para atingir os objetivos 1, 2, 3, 4 e 5. A discussão de situações problema servirá sobretudo para atingir os objetivos 4 e 5. A realização de trabalhos práticos servirá para atingir os objetivos 1, 4 e 5.

Analysis of texts and other documents about the syllabus will serve to achieve the goals 1,2, 3, 4 and 5. The oral and written reflection will serve primarily to achieve the goals 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5.
The discussion of problem situations will serve primarily to achieve the goals 4 and 5. The practical works will serve to achieve the goals 1, 4 and 5.
