Fomentar o raciocínio analítico e a problematização sobre a relação entre Natureza e Cultura; Compreender e discutir a unidade e diversidade das culturas; Contribuir para atitudes de respeito e tolerância pelas diferenças culturais.
Módulo 1: Conhecer e Operacionalizar o conceito de Cultura e o método antropológico.
Módulo 2: Compreender o Homem enquanto ser biológico e reconhecer a importância da sua morfologia, relação filogenética com os outros primatas e historia evolutiva na evolução dos comportamentos; Compreender a relação entre biologia, geografia e cultura.
Módulo 3: Compreender como através dos métodos da Arqueologia se atinge o conhecimento e compreensão das sociedades do passado e da sua cultura Material; Identificar e caracterizar diferentes tipos de sociedades. Módulo 4: Discernir as especificidades metodológicas e conceituais das CH; Reconhecer o estatuto
problemático do Anthropos como objecto de estudo e o carácter reflexivo do seu estudo. 3.3.4. Intended learning outcomes of the curricular unit:
To develop analytical thinking and to stimulate the problematize the relation between culture and nature; To understand and discuss the unitity and diversity of cultures; To contribute to attitudes of respect and tolerance towards cultural differences
Module 1: To know and apply the concept of Culture and the anthropological method;
Module 2: To understand Man as biological being and to recognize how morphology, philogenetic relation with other primates and evolutionary history, may have contributed to the behavioural development; To understand relation between biology, geography and culture
Module 3: to understand past time societies and their material cultures, through the use of archeological methods. To identify and characterize, from a cultural point of view, different types of societies of the past Module 4: To discern the methodological and conceptual specificities of HS; To recognize the problematic status of Anthropos and the reflexive character of studying it.

A articulação entre objectivos e temas do programa visa concretizar uma das componentes da formação em Sociologia (e as Ciências Sociais em geral): problematizar a relação entre Cultura e Natureza. Esta dimensão de análise é operacionalizada, ao nivel de temas transversais, analisados comparativamente.
3.3.6. Demonstration of the syllabus coherence with the curricular unit’s intended learning outcomes.
The articulation between aims and themes in the syllabus is directed towards eliciting one of the components in the education in sociology (and social sciences, in general): discussing the relation between Culture and Nature. This dimension of analysis is made intelligible through transversal themes, which are analyzed comparatively
3.3.7. Metodologias de ensino (avaliação incluída):
Exposição oral apoiada em metodologias visuais, e leitura crítica de textos.
Regime de avaliação contínua é preferencial e consiste em quatro provas escritas (Uma prova escrita por módulo: 4x25%). Avaliação por Sistema de Exame: um exame final (100%).

Lectures, articulated with visual methodologies, and critical reading of texts.
Continuous Evaluation is the preferred method and it is based in four written tests (one for each module: 4x25%).
Evaluation system by Exam: one final exam (100%)
3.3.8. Demonstração da coerência das metodologias de ensino com os objectivos de aprendizagem da unidade curricular.
Para além das lectures, o projecto pedagógico da UC é ancorado na necessidade dar viva voz aos estudantes que nas sessões colectivas trabalham sobre temáticas de case-studies para entenderem as dimensões culturais da vida social (contemporânea e passada, de sociedades humanas e de primatas) numa perspectiva interdisciplinar. Além das aulas teórico-práticas existem tutorias individuais e apoio tutorial por email e via plataforma moodle.

Besides lectures, the pedagogical project of the curricular unit is anchored in the necessity to give voice to the students, who will work on case-studies’ themes to understand the cultural dimensions of social life (of present and past societies, both human and primate ones), in an interdisciplinary way. Besides collective sessions, there are individual tutorials, either direct or via email and moodle.
